Thank you Access Now, Let’s Keep Fighting!

This week we launched a campaign with Access Now, building pressure on international companies to not respond to national URL filtering proposal. In the past few weeks, thanks to the consistent efforts of our partners Business Human Rights Resource Centre, we were able to get four international companies to commit they will not be applying to the proposal.

Within 48 hours of the access now campaign, over sixteen thousand people have joined in to pressure international companies to commit and one of the five remaining companies, Mcaffee, has committed not to bid. We are most thankful to the access now team for this success.

This is a reflection of consistent efforts of organizations within and outside of Pakistan, working together to stop the government from silencing our voice. We still need to target the remaining four and build significant public pressure on the Ministry of IT.We have until friday, 16th of March’2012, to keep building pressure. Please sign the petition, share and help us build pressure.
