What is Freedom of Information?
“19A. Right to information.‐‐‐Every citizen shall have the right to have access to
information in all matters of public importance subject to regulation and
reasonable restrictions imposed by law.”
The concept of FOI includes, but is not limited to:
- The public has the right to have access to information that the government (or other powerful institutions) hold about them.
- The public has the right to see and hear what is n in the legislature, courts, and other public bodies.
