Hope you are doing well and could find the time to read Ismail’s letter. The honesty and simplicity of men like Ismail is quite heart warming. We are writing to you to aid, again, in informing you how YouTube has been useful to the citizens of Pakistan. The case may be at a standstill, but the flow of information can never really be ceased.
The letter attached today is written by one of Pakistan’s most talented photographers and photojournalists, Mobeen Ansari. Mobeen is hearing impaired, but that’s no restriction to his work and creativity. His work is exceptional, but his motivation and inspiration is what we find most commendable. He believes in promoting positive messages through imagery, and showing people the true Pakistan and true Pakistanis. He has highlighted inspirational heroes of Pakistan like Abdul Sattar Edhi, Cowasjee, Abida Parveen, and others, and contributes to society using photographs and photo journals depictive of the real Pakistan..
His letter clearly states how YouTube has contributed to his cause as well as his professional work. Mobeen discusses how the ban on YouTube has not only delayed his work, but is also a hurdle in spreading the word about his cause. He tells you about his new book, and the role YouTube and the internet has played in education and professional work.
For men like Ansari, the most crucial part is to be able to spread the message. Just focusing on negativity and hate has made us a very cynical nation, but people like Ansari inspire us and remind us of the beauty of the nation and its people. Pakistan is one of the most charitable countries in the world, most hospitable too; yet its citizens are forgetting that. The ban on YouTube reinforces the negativity that has plagued the country.
We are sure that the letter will touch your heart as it did ours. His message is very important to the nation, and reaches out to those who can’t understand words, but surely can understand pictures. Take a look, please, it is attached herewith.
Until next time,
